Ghana’s Black Stars confirmed a place at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon after defeating Mauritius 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Black Stars who needed just a point to qualify for next year’s Cup of Nations.

Ghana having toiled to get a goal in the first half creating numerous chances finally got their breakthrough in the 62nd minute after captain Andre Ayew planted a ball into the net having received a cross from Abdul Baba Rahman from the left hand side of attack.

Christian Atsu made it 2-0 3minutes later after connecting another cross from Baba Rahman.

The result thus keeps Ghana at the top of Group H with 13 points from five games hence booking their place at the continental event next year.

Ghana will next host Rwanda in the final Group match in September.
