Narrating the incident, Afia’s mother, Mrs Akua Akuada said three months ago, she traveled with her husband, Mr Kojo Hian, to the Upper West for the funeral of her father-in-law, leaving Afia in Dapaah’ care.

She told Joy News’ Nurudeen Mohammed that, upon their return, Afia started complaining about general body pains especially in her waist then abdomen and she could not walk well.

Mrs Akuada said with tears  Afia told her Dapaah had been having sex with her during their absence. Afia’s parents reported the case to the Offinso district police who arrested Dapaah and are working on putting him before the court.

Joy News source say her condition is, however, getting worse by the day and has been referred from the St. Patrick Hospital at Offinso to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where X-rays revealed she is also suffering from an intestinal obstruction.

The X-rays revealed small and large bowel obstruction with doctors saying Afia is likely to undergo two separate surgeries to correct this.
