Being an ‘Ayigbe chic‘, we won’t be surprised if Fella Makafui‘s Christian name is “Appreciation” or “Gratitude” more when she’s living the meaning of these names.
The Yolo Star, visited her hometown, Anfoega Akukome, in the Volta Region and being appreciative of the community’s contribution to her upbringing, she decided to donate some bags of cement for the renovation of the town’s Community Center as a way to show her gratitude.
According to Fella, the centre is so dear to her because that’s where her mother sent her for weighing when she was delivered.
The Chiefs of the village were gathered for Fella’s donation and she took to her Instagram page to thank them when she wrote:
“I write to show my sincere appreciation to the people and chiefs of my Hometown (Anfoega Akukome) for hosting me last Saturday to present to them BAGS of Cement to assist them in the renovation of their “ COMMUNITY CENTER “.
This Community Centre was where my mum took me for my regular weighing as a baby and so it was very dear to my heart to give back to them for how far they have made me come. This is my hometown and where I was brought up.
To the Widows I met & spent time with, I say may God continue to strengthen you. I know my Donation to you will not bring back your beloved husbands but I know it will surely let you know that we care about your well-being.
Once again God bless the Paramount Chief of Anfoega Akukome, Tobge Tepre Hodo [IV] for calling his traditional council [Sub Chiefs] to host me, I am very humbled.”
